I just received this via email alert from CNN…
– The U.S. entered a recession in December 2007, according to the National Bureau of Economic Research.
Really? Oh no! You’ve got to be kidding me! Wonder if there is some reason that it took a full year to determine this, and then waste a pile of electrons sending it to me via email. There once was a day when I actually valued their email alerts and had them forwarded to my cell phone as a text message to keep in touch with the world when I was away from the computer… Sadly those days are long gone.
What has changed in the US with the media in general over the past few years? CNN was once a respected news source that could be counted on for fast, reliable, and accurate information. For those that paid any attention during the year preceding preceding the last election a clear line could be drawn in the sand and almost EVERY news outlet of the “Main Stream Media” would be standing to the left of said line. The only exception I found was Fox News. They stayed in the Grey Fuzz that separates left from right 99% of the time. However it too was clear that most of there reporters and contributors clearly stood on the right, they remained very balanced.
